That’s why Hammerhead Industries, a leading innovator of retracting equipment tethers, developed its new Gear Keeper® High Security Key Retractor — to help keep the security professional’s keys secure and available at all times.
The new Gear Keeper High Security Key Retractor includes several “key” engineering enhancements directly requested by California Department of Corrections officers. For starters, the new Clamp-on rotating belt clip can either slide or clamp onto large belts (including 2.25” wide duty belts) for increased security. The rotating clip attachment on the new, heavy-duty RT3 — which rotates 360-degrees for easy access to keys from any position or in any location — is built stronger to withstand tough professional use without separating. This new model also features a heavy-duty brass snap clip at its end, instead of Gear Keeper’s traditional quick-disconnect end.
The High Security Key Retractor is designed to handle from 15 to 28 keys. It features a rugged nylon line with a tough Kevlar core, delivering 80 lbs. of breaking strength and durability for the long run. A strong stainless steel coil spring mechanism (available with 12 ounces of retraction) and stainless steel hardware provide years of reliable performance in even the harshest operating conditions. For convenient use on the job, this new model offers a full 42” of extension. Its unique design also allows for easy locking of the retraction mechanism to maintain keys at a desired distance from the body — a popular feature for professional users. The new Gear Keeper High Security Key Retractor is also available with an 18 oz. retraction and 36” extension and 26 oz. retraction with 28” of extension — providing security professionals with a retractor that works best for the heavier “Folger Adam” keys that are typically used in the prison system.
