Hang On To Your Hard Hat… There’s a new low-cost safety lanyard.

The new Gear Keeper© Standard Hard Hat Lanyard adds more safety for less than $8.

Working at ground level, your hard hat protects you from an object falling from above. But when someone is working aloft, a falling hard hat becomes a one-pound unguided missile that endangers the entire worksite.

A fall-arrest harness will protect an at-heights dislodged worker, but his fall-arrest harness won’t protect the work site because his hard hat which will continue its descent creating a hazardous condition below. Designed for use with all fall-protection harness systems, the new Gear Keeper TL1-5001 Standard Hard Hat Lanyard is the economical option that completes this often-missing safety link.

The TL1-5001 Hard Hat Lanyard has a 20” loop-mounted retention strap employing a spring clip that is designed to attach to fall-protection harness systems or clothing of the proper structure such as coveralls or a vest. The clip is easy to attach and the new lanyard that retails for only $7.95, is very affordable. The TL1-5001 cost-effective hard hat lanyard is weight tested to safely retain commonly used industrial hard hats.

Avoid dropped tools…How to attach lanyards to tools without attachment points.

New Gear Keeper® guide includes fully illustrated, 6-page section on how to tether seemingly un-tetherable tools.

Even small tools that are dropped from above are serious safety hazards. When working at heights, some of the most commonly used tools, that don’t have attachment points, are often improperly secured and need to be tethered. The new literature from Gear Keeper offers simple and convenient tethering solutions that will safely secure a tool while still retaining the benefit of extending and retracting the tool as needed.

UntetherablesIt is not unusual to find a tool that does not have an attachment point. Many commonly used tools often have to be modified in order to secure them and prevent “dropped tool” accidents. In order to safely tether these tools you need to create a secure attachment point for connection to your tether or lanyard. The most practical method is to attach a “load ring” for easy connection and disconnection to a lanyard. This can be done in a number of ways based on the tool, the application and the user.

The illustrated “how to” reference is included in the company’s free new 16-page “Safety Engineer’s Guide to Tool Tethering.” The multi-page section titled “How to attach lanyards to tools that don’t have attachment points,” contains over 50 demonstration photos. They illustrate the guide’s tool attachment “how-to” theories such as Swivel Connection Tools, Slip vs. Non-Slip Connections and Attaching Tools With Minimal Geometry” in a step-by-step presentation. There is also a section covering non-slip, swivel connections for small hand tools that solves the problem of tethering commonly used tools such as screw drivers, pliers, hammers and others that lack the necessary geometry or don’t have built-in attachment points required for tethering.

Covered in the guide are workplace considerations such as; tethers for working in confined quarters or climbing; tethers that allow for quick interchangeability of tools and tethers designed to anchor a heavy tool to a structure instead of a person. Even tethers for other common workplace objects such as hard hats, security cards, cell phones and more are covered in the guide.

According to John Salentine, VP of Hammerhead Industries, “the new Safety Engineer’s Guide to Tool Tethering is the first document of its kind. It is a major step forward in helping safety engineers properly tether tools.” Salentine added, “This information will make every employee and their work site safer and more efficient.”

In close quarters or when climbing, retractable tether keeps heavy tools close to body.

Minimize dangling tool entanglement with new Gear Keeper® heavy-tool retractable tether.

RT3-5605 is engineered so that the tool, application and recoil/retraction force are in balance. Designed to avoid worker fatigue in order to maintain productivity, only minimal force is necessary to extend the RT3-5605 tether for use.

RT3-5605 is engineered so that the tool, application and recoil/retraction force are in balance. Designed to avoid worker fatigue in order to maintain productivity, only minimal force is necessary to extend the RT3-5605 tether for use.

Gear Keeper’s new RT3-5605 heavy-tool retractable tether’s ultra low profile keeps tools close to the body when stored while still allowing complete accessibility when in use. The retractor employs a very low 7 oz force to avoid arm strain when extended, but strong enough to keep the line taught to avoid snagging or interference with the work being performed. The retractor mechanism’s force is designed to retract the lanyard, not the tool. When the tool is retracted, lanyard exposure is minimized to avoid snagging, especially when the tool is also placed in a tool bag/pouch.

Using a retractable tether for heavy hand tools is particularly important when working in close quarters or climbing. Gear Keeper’s new RT3-5605 heavy-tool retractable tether’s ultra low profile keeps tools close to the body when stored while still allowing complete accessibility when in use.

The RT3-5605 heavy-tool tether has a generous reach that extends more than 55”.

The RT3-5605 heavy-tool tether has a generous reach that extends more than 55”.

Like other retractables in the Gear Keeper line, the RT3-5605 is engineered so that the tool, application and recoil/retraction force are in balance. Designed to avoid worker fatigue in order to maintain productivity, only minimal force is necessary to extend the RT3-5605 tether for use.

The RT3-5605 heavy-tool tether has a generous reach that extends more than 55”. The strong, impact absorbing Nylon webbing for tools up to 3.5 lbs does not require an additional shock absorbing lanyard end. Tools are attached via a Stainless Steel, thumb-controlled, locking-gate carabiner. The RT3-5605 also reduces arm strain when working with heavier tools; the tether features a thumb-controlled gear lock to secure the tool at any extension length. Included with the tether is a lanyard loop strap that can adapt virtually any tool of appropriate weight to be cinched securely to the tether.

According to John Salentine, VP of Hammerhead Industries, “Workers do not have to dance around a long, dangling tether or drag their tool on the floor.” Salentine added, “This unique heavy-tool retractor makes work safer, more efficient and simplifies every repair, maintenance or manufacturing project.”

RT3-5605 retractable heavy-tool tethers including the lanyard loop strap retail for $35.99 per unit. For bulk pricing (50 or more) call 888.588.9981. The full line of Gear Keeper instrument tethers and accessories are available on the company’s website at gearkeeper.com. New Anchored Tool Tethers Can Save Lives

New From Gear Keeper – 15-25-Pound Anchored Tethers Provide Safety and Security for Construction and Field Force Workers

Hammerhead Industries, manufacturers of Gear Keeper industrial tool tethering systems, today announced a pair of new tool tethers for heavy tools and instruments. Both of the new anchored tethers are designed for attachment to a fixed structure rather than to a person.

The Gear Keeper model TL1-3025 Fixed Loop Tether has a short retracted length of only 32 inches to avoid entanglement coupled with a low-force extension to 45 inches that minimizes fatigue during use. The coil is covered with high-strength nylon webbing that can withstand tough working conditions.

The TL1-3025 Fixed Loop Tether and TL1-4025 Fixed Loop Tether are rated at 15 and 25 pounds respectively to keep drills, power drivers, electronic meters and other heavy tools and instruments safely tethered to avoid injury to the worker or the work site.

The “fixed loop” attachment feature of these new models also permits tethering of tools that have no other attachment point. For example, when a larger loop is required to go around a large handle like a chain saw, the worker would just slip knot the “fixed loop” over the handle.

Easily attached to a fixed object such as high-rise bucket or scaffolding, anchoring the tether transfers the shock load produced by a dropped tool from the worker to the structure. Tethering heavy tools, generally over 10 pounds, is a significant safety concern. If dropped, a 10-pound tool can have a shock load that exceeds 200 pounds.

The model TL1-4025 is a flexible, low profile coil system that provides a 10-foot working radius for tools like power drills, nail guns, power drivers and other heavier weight tools. The coil system is fully enclosed in rugged nylon orange webbing that increases the tether’s overall strength and durability under tough on-the-job conditions for tools up to 25 pounds.

The new Gear Keeper models are also high visibility orange in color and feature a tag that shows the weight of the tool appropriate for the tether as well as traceability info such has date manufactured.

“This safety tag is a new feature that will help Safety Engineers make sure that each tool has the proper tether for the job,” said John Salentine, VP of Hammerhead Industries. “Safety starts first with the proper mating of both the tool and the tether to ensure productivity and safety in the work environment.”

The Gear Keeper TL1-3025 has a MSRP of $19.00. The Gear Keeper TL1-4025 retails for $49.99. michael kors tasche sale michael kors tasche sale
