Methodische Untersuchungen zum Stand der Umsetzung des Artikels nine der UN-Behindertenrechtskonvention gibt es in Deutschland gar nicht. Vor diesem Hintergrund werden seit einigen Jahren mit einer eigenen Checkliste nicht nur baurechtlich verbindliche Regelungen untersucht, sondern weiter reichende Aspekte, die den Stand der Technik beschreiben. Stichprobenartige Untersuchungen in vier Reihenzwischen 2007 und 2010 in insgesamt forty-one öffentlichen Gebäuden und ergänzende Interviews geben in harten und weichen Faktoren Aufschluss über systematische Störungen der Grund-tendenz zur Barrierefreiheit.
